Normal daily activity Good day to be active outside! Students who are usually sensitive to air pollution could have symptoms. *Ensure that sensitive individuals are medically managing their conditions. Consider reducing prolonged or heavy exertion. Symptoms like coughing or shortness of breath are a sign to take it easier.

*Sensitive individuals are people with ashma, heart, or lung disease, children, teenagers and older adults.
**Students with asthma should follow their ashma action plans and keep quick-relief medicine handy.
Prolonged exertion: This means any outdoor activity that you will be doing off and on for several hours and that makes you breathe slightly harder than normal. A good example of this is working in the yard for part of the day.
Heavy exertion: This means intense outdoor activities that cause you to breathe hard. Be sure to reduce your activity level if you experience any unusual coughing, chest discomfort, wheezing, breathing difficulty, or unusual fatigue.
