Welcome to the 74th Annual 38th Parallel Healthcare Training Symposium hosted by the 65th Medical Brigade. This symposium provides an opportunity for Asia-Pacific Region healthcare professionals to earn continuing education credits while taking part in valuable professional development. Additionally, it is an opportunity for USFK members to build and strengthen relationships with host nation and regional partners.

This year’s theme, “Forging the Future of Battlefield Medicine,” speaks to what innovative ideas, procedures and equipment pieces are being implemented in Army 2030 and how it will effect the mission in Korea.

Our goal is to ensure we have trained and ready U.S. medical professionals in South Korea who sustain a ready, medically deployable military force, as well as providing quality healthcare to family members and beneficiaries. We do so by providing high quality continuing education and by strengthening our bonds with our Republic of Korea medical partners.

HISTORY

The 38th Parallel Medical Society was formed in 1951 by a group of medical officers serving with the 3rd Infantry Division in Korea. The organization was formed to provide a forum to discuss current medical advances and medical-military issues unique to the Korean Peninsula.
